A pair of bright cut tongs probably by William Stroud bearing partial marking of include duty mark and lion passant, dating fairly accurately c. 1785. No monograms.
Condition: There are some surface stress type lines to inside of the hallmarked arm but they appear to be original & probably caused by the hallmarking. Possible historical monogram erasure to bow. Makers marks were not well punched.
