A gorgeous pair of c.19th tureens by Veyrat of Paris, silver on copper with large 'fruit' type finials to lids and very ornate handles. They have removable first standard (950 silver quality, purer than sterling silver) liner bowls to their interiors bearing the Mercure export mark of 1840-1879.

A lovely and unusual piece by William Hornby, appears to be hallmarked for London 1898 which would make it one of his earliest pieces. The handle appears to be an opaque glass or crystal and is mounted with a snake. The blade is gilded over a thin layer of copper on sterling silver.
