An absolutely fabulous looking piece - the Corinthian column base is supported by ornate scrolling acanthus and lions paw feet raised on a chunky plinth base, marked to underside for manufacture by Walker & Hall in 1898. The glass reservoir is nicely cut and topped with a silver plated burner marked with Hinks patent and has both flame height and burner height adjustors and a superb teardrop pull lever to extinguish the flames. The shade is decorated with cherubs and floral urns above floral swags. Comes with a French glass chimney. Base to underside of reservoir measures 33cm tall (c. 13 inches), base to burner rim when in adjusted state measures 48cm (c. 19 inches), base to top of shade measures 64cm (c. 25 inches).
Condition: Stand is in superb condition for age, we have sympathetically polished this to retain the lovely patina in the detailing. The plinth area is absolutely gleaming silver like a mirror with minimal marks. No dents or damage. The glass reservoir is overall fine with just one tiny fleabite to an edge facet cut. The burner section is fine, all totally operating as it should do. Some minor tarnish. The lamp shade is again fine with some minimal fleabiting at its rim. It does not fit tightly to the shade support but works perfectly well enough on the stand assuming you are not moving it about all the time. The chimney fits fine but does have chipping to its top, it should be fairly easy to replace this.
