A lovely fine looking Old Sheffield Plate handle from a meat dish cover, bearing makers marks for I&I Waterhouse of Sheffield. Made c. 1830. Would make a fabulous and unusual door or drawer handle too. The main bolt and spigot are 2.4cm (just under 1 inch) apart measured centre to centre. Bolt has a diameter of 7mm (1/4 inch).
Condition: It has a historical adaptation of its spigot to fit a different cover at some stage than the one it was intended for originally. Slight dent to one end. Last photo shows it next to its smaller cousin (not included).
Identifying Marks: See photo
