A gorgeous pair of c.19th tureens by Veyrat of Paris, silver on copper with large 'fruit' type finials to lids and very ornate handles. They have removable first standard (950 silver quality, purer than sterling silver) liner bowls to their interiors bearing the Mercure export mark of 1840-1879, these have a combined silver weight of 921g (29.61 troy oz)
Condition: Gleaming silver with some slight copper bleed but look fantastic. Some minor knocks, no major dents. One of the silver liners has a pinprick hole at its Mercure punch mark, presumably there since it was punched, its very tiny anyway. Surface marks to the liner bowls from use and some minor knocks. The combined weight of the plated tureens & silver liners is 4495g/158.6oz avoirdupois
