Victorian Oak & Silver Plated Serving Tray - Antique C. 1896 (#57023)

Our Reference #: 57023

A good sized serving tray with rail & ball gallery with side handles and ball feet. The central plaque bears a presentation engraving 'Presented to Henry Oxton Maddock by the members of the Wirral Hunt Club on the occasion of his marriage to Mary Hannah Tilston'. A quick search on the web has records for this marriage taking place in Chester in 1896. (

Condition: Structurally solid but does have a crack through the wood at centre. Its not that distracting. Plating is fairly worn. Overall its still a nice looking thing and great to be able to pin down its exact date etc.
