A George III sterling silver drum mustard pot by John Langlands I & John Robertson I of Newcastle, bearing just partial markings of lion passant and duty mark, no assay office or date letter which is not too unusual for Newcastle made pieces. The Bristol blue glass liner fits perfectly so may even be its original. It will date c, 1780. Comes with a later sterling silver mustard spoon by Josiah Williams & co London 1901.
Condition: Pot overall very good with some feint tarnish related marks. A miniscule shallow pinhead knock to lid (barely even visible). Liner fine. Some slight verdigris to interior base but obviously hidden by the liner. Spoon fine. Pot weighs 83g, spoon weighs 8g, Total silver weight 91g. Total weight including glass 172g.
