Old Sheffield Plate Rotating Egg Cup Cruet C. 1810 - Antique Silver Plated (#100324)

Our Reference #: 100324

An interesting and unusual rotating 6 egg cup cruet - originally c. 1810 with some later adjustments. The swing handled pot to top is for salt. This piece screws onto the central column, it is not detachable.

Condition: Probably modified, there is a later EPNS fixing to the centre of the rotating section and the top of the vertical column spigot area also appears to be EPNS, the rest is silver on copper. Historical repairs to the join of the vertical column with its base and the underside of the central ring of the rotating section. Some digs, dents and internal wear to the egg cups and some salt related wear/pitting to interior of the salt cellar. The 7 spoons are later EPNS examples. It is still a fine looking and very unusual piece.
