A gorgeous piece, this is a sterling silver toast rack fully hallmarked for London 1817, maker probably Edward Barton, the crest depicting a Dukes crown above a bearded male torso. Raised on lovely lion mask and paw feet.

Condition: Does have some historical repair work but it was very well done. From right side up you can some minor areas of silver solder to the shell & ropetwist rim areas and a couple of the historical repaired breaks just about show but its all good and sturdy. One of the breaks intersects the lion passant stamp to underside but hallmarks are clear enough to date accurately. Overall it's a super looking piece.
