A lovely piece this modeled as a chestnut roasting pan with turned ebony handle. Made by master silversmiths Levi & Salaman and fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1907. Gilt washed interior of lid and traces to the interior base. It appears it was intended to be used for a food purpose of sorts, possibly as a novelty sugar castor or similar, holes a little too large for pepper.

Condition: Some tiny knocks to lid but otherwise fine
