An early c.20th canteen for 12 settings of Old English pattern silver plated flatware and accompanying acetate faux bone handled cutlery. Comprises 12 each of table knife, dessert knife, table fork, dessert fork, dessert spoons, soup spoon, teaspoon + 6 tablespoons + a 7 piece fruit serving set and a 3 piece carving set. Total of 100 pieces.

Condition: Makers are varied but all of the flatware is Old English pattern in 2 sets of 6 etc, some of the dessert knives are replacements and all the table knives and meat set are original to the canteen (Bensley of Sheffield). Some of the faux bone handles have some slight discoloration. Some of the steel blades have some small spots but nothing too bad. Silverware is fairly gleaming but will benefit from a quick polish before use. Fruit serving spoon is loose in the case. Overall it's a nice suite. Case has some of its bead decoration missing in places and some surface scratches & scuffs. Still has its key and lock works fine.
