ANTIQUE EMPTY OAK CUTLERY CHEST CANTEEN WITH ROYAL LETTERS PATENT INTERIOR Item #59949
A very nice canteen with an unusual Royal Letters patented spring action retainer slats for the 2 sets of 6 knives (you push down the slats to remove/replace the knives and they spring back into place). Has slots for a 5 piece carving set ( 2 forks fit to the lid either side of the knives) and slots for 12 dinner/side forks, 6 dessert spoons and 6 teaspoons as well as 2 larger sauce ladles. This accommodates very large dinner knives – they need to be 25-26cm long, and the side knives c. 21cm. Forks c. 20cm and 16cm. The lid has an engraved brass plaque ‘Presented to Mr F.A. Doughty by his colleagues of the L.C.C Tramways dept on the occasion of his marriage 4th Nov 1911’. LCC in this instance is almost certainly Leicester City Council. Overall structurally fine with a cosmetic slight shrinkage crack across the centre of the lid & some surface scratches etc but aged and well patinated. The interior is overall very nice with some baise scuffs and all the spring restrainers still in perfect working order. Underside has been freshly re-baised. No key. GBP39.99

GEORGIAN HOBNAIL CUT GLASS RUMMER SQUARE FOOTED – ANTIQUE Item #59960
A lovely looking heavy rummer with hobnail cut work to the mid body and a star cut to base. The bowl is excellent other than there are some traces of amber colouration in places at the cutwork that appear to be physically in the glass rather than staining. The foot has some general chipping but all quite smooth to touch, probably reduced down on one side. Despites some faults it is still a fabulous looking piece and fine & weighty in the hand. GBP59.99

An early c.20th silver plated 4 egg cup cruet set complete with spoons. Stand is overall gleaming silver with some surface marks and minor wear here and there, slight ring marks from the egg cups etc. Cups are all gleaming silver with some very slight spots of wear to some interiors, one has a little more wear than the others but not too obvious. One of the cup retainer spigots is a replacement of slightly different proportions to the others but obviously you don’t see this with the cups in place. GBP29.99

A lovely suite of chased silver plated mats, there are 8x18cm place setting mats (smaller size not the biggest ones), 8x10cm drinks mats and 3 larger 23cm serving dish mats. All original boxes. All gleaming silver. The larger mats have some slight centre scratches from use but nothing too serious. One of the 8 place mats is a replacement in a pretty much identical pattern but not quite as good quality as the others, it wouldn’t notice that much when on the table. Baised undersides other than the replacement mat which has cork. Boxes all fairly good with minor scuffs/marks. GBP74.99

GORGEOUS PAIR OF BLOWN GLASS DECANTERS WITH ELONGATED NECKS VINTAGE Item #60042
These really are quite beautiful pieces and must have been quite difficult to make. They have olive green flared bases and stoppers with cutwork to the tops of stoppers. The necks are particularly long and slender (c.15.5cm from shoulders to top rims) and terminate with a triple pouring lip. Both absolutely fine, no damage other then one stopper has a minuscule fleabite at its end. The necks have some stretch marks towards their top sections, purely from the glass blowing process.
