UNUSUAL ANTIQUE STEEL CIGARETTE CASE ‘THE CASTLE DOVER 1906’ – GEMSTONE BUTTON Item #100043
This is quite an interesting case – its is made from steel that has been deliberately burnished (fire blackened) and has a sapphire-opal coloured ‘stone’ set button in what appears to be a gold mount (untested). The interior is engraved ‘F.E.ELLIOTT FROM CAPT THOMPSON THE CASTLE DOVER 1900-1906’. No dents but obvious surface marks where the burnishing has part rubbed and slight surface rust. Clasp works fine. The stone has some slight surface roughness to one side under very high magnification. GBP24.99

A very nice looking smaller roll-top, oval shape with a recessed well to interior. The lid is monogrammed with a single initial ‘M’. Nice Gargoyle face legs. Absolutely gleaming, no dents. Some very minor roughness to the interior top rim of the well area. There is some spurious solder to underside for some reason, it does not correlate with any breaks or damage – perfectly fine right side up. GBP79.99
SPLENDID 3 PIECE TEASET – JAMES DIXON SILVER PLATED C. 1930 – VINTAGE Item #100060
A very fine 3 piece by Dixon in design D1800 which can be found in the Dixon catalogue c.1931. This one has a nice lid to the sugar bowl. Good larger size jug and bowl. Teapot 2 pints capacity. Interestingly the price in 1931 for this set was 112 shillings (equivalent to approx GBP500 adjusted for inflation nowadays!). Teapot and sugar bowl look pretty much unused. Jug has a small patch of tiny digs to interior base and a very tiny rim knock, not very noticeable without looking for it. GBP59.99
