ANTIQUE PAIR OF STERLING SILVER CANDLESTICKS (a/f) – LONDON 1890 Item #58728
A pair of short sticks by Horace Woodward & Co (Edgar Finley & Hugh Taylor) with semi-fluted candle holders on a plinth base. Heavily weighted. Baised undersides. Fully hallmarked for London 1890. These are not perfect but still display well. One of the sticks has a stem repair and has its interior base plate pushed thru but it is still perfectly useable without it. The other has a dent to base of the fluted area and slightly off true vertical. Some small plinth holes, slight other dents and tarnish marks etc. GBP49.99

A pair of George III candlesticks with detachable wax drip pans. Baised undersides. Both overall gleaming silver with some copper bleed. Minor holes to the pedestal edge rim decoration. Probably re-plated at some stage. Both have a historical good repair to the thinner stem sections. Interiors of the stick holders are a little crude with no interior base plate and exposed wire rods but still perfectly useable as they are. GBP44.99

A silver plated coffee pot by Martin Hall & Co c. 1910, together with a harlequin suite of sugar bowl and larger milk/cream jug – they work quite well a ‘set’. Pot is overall gleaming silver with surface marks and some gentle body dents. Interior has some tarnish marks. Some slight wear to interior base of sugar bowl and some exterior surface marks to both bowl & jug mainly towards their bases, so not so noticeable. Makers marks are part rubbed to pot. A few have other hard to see punch stamps e.g. what appears to be an elephant & castle on one. All overall gleaming silver, some copper bleed to lower banding areas, some base rim dents. A nice looking cruet stand by Boardman & Glossop of Sheffield, complete with its 5 original cut glass bottles and a long fiddle pattern mustard spoon. Stand is overall gleaming silver with some wear in places to the interior and the glass restrainers but not really that noticeable with glass in place. Glass is all fine and chip free, even the stoppers are good with just a tiny nick to underside of one of them. Slight plate wear to the lids but overall looks great.
