Marked ‘Academy Plate’. In Taylor’s eyewitness case. Both structurally fine, surface marks from use. Minor gap at the silver ferrule to each handle but both solid and fine. VERY LARGE VICTORIAN CAKE KNIFE – SILVER PLATED – WALKER & HALL 1896 – ANTIQUE Item #54759
A Victorian close plated large size cake knife with grape & vine decoration to each side, and a carved realistic ivory look early acetate/xylonite handle. Made by Walker & Hall in 1896. Still perfectly useable, has some cosmetic issues with a slight kink at blade tip , slide edge wear and a small area of ‘copper’ showing to rear side (it was silvered on copper on steel). Some wear to the plated ferrule. Handle has a minor stress line at hilt to rear side but it is absolutely solid etc. GBP14.99

A very cute size and very early set of Kings pattern child’s cutlery – the knife blade fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1827, the spoon 1831 and the fork just marked with the makers mark – all pieces by ‘WW’ (unrecorded maker). No hallmarks to handles but they are silver. Gaps at hilt join areas to the knife and spoon. Spoon has gentle bowl knocks. Knife blade edge a few knocks. Handles all exhibit gentle digs/knocks. A most beautiful set of tea knives with ornate repousse and bright cut work to handles, very striking design. Close Silver plated blades. Fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1902, maker James Deakin & Sons. Handles all good with the odd tiny pinhead knock, nothing significant. Blades generally good with some very slight edge wear and use marks. Case is not original to the knives but they fit inside well enough. GBP39.99
MOTHER OF PEARL HANDLE DESSERT FORKS SILVER PLATED ELKINGTON MASON 1856 ANTIQUE Item #54780
A set of 6 dessert forks by Elkington when in partnership with Mason, bearing date letter ‘R’ presumably for 1856 although not in the standard shape cartouche. Close plated (silver on steel) prongs. Lovely carved mother of pearl handles. All hand polished & gleaming silver with some use marks. Some prongs exhibit slight spotting/wear but generally very good for age. One fork prong is slightly shorter than its cousins. Handles are all fine. No chips or cracks. One fork has a a slight gap at its ferrule and its handle is part twisted although still solid and useable. GBP59.99
