This is quite an interesting case - its is made from steel that has been deliberately burnished (fire blackened) and has a sapphire-opal coloured 'stone' set button in what appears to be a gold mount (untested). The interior is engraved 'F.E.ELLIOTT FROM CAPT THOMPSON THE CASTLE DOVER 1900-1906'.
Condition: No dents but obvious surface marks where the burnishing has part rubbed and slight surface rust. Clasp works fine. The stone has some slight surface roughness to one side under very high magnification.
Identifying Marks: No makers marks just stamped numbers to interior
