Vintage Dressing Table: Brushes, Mirrors, Perfume

An unusual 800 standard German crumb tray with repousse decoration of a man and woman tending a garden.

A fine looking buttonhook by Levi & Salaman, the handle fully hallmarked for Birmingham, date letter rubbed.

This is such a lovely looking piece & a lot of work went into its manufacture. Stylistically it sits around 1830 we believe. Much smaller than a regular decanter, it may even be a large perfume bottle. Overall mallet shape with a double band of diamond cuts to the lower and 16 pairs of in & out tapering panel cuts to body. Stem has an 8 sided knop. Underside has a larger perfectly smoothed, slightly concave pontil circle. Target/Bullseye type stopper. Measures 12.3cm high to the top of rim, 17.3cm to top of stopper and has a base diameter of 11.1cm. An approx capacity would be +/- c. 350ml (i.e. a traditional dessert wine sized bottle should pretty much fit in it.)

A lovely scent / perfume bottle corkscrew decorated with cherubs. The handle is unmarked silver and the thread is obviously steel. Monogrammed 'AFO'.

A nice looking atomiser bottle by Charles S. Green of Birmingham just marked 'Sterling Silver' to collar. It has as replacement stopper so that it can be used as a scent bottle.

A lovely trinket dish by Henry Matthews in the Reynolds Angels design. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1903.

A gorgeous pair of glove stretchers by Adie & Lovekin with sterling silver handles fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1892. These have 'German Silver' arms (Nickel Silver).

A lovely pair of nail scissors by Levi & Salaman fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1899.

A lovely comb holder by Fenton, Russell & Co Ltd fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1905. Complete with a faux tortoiseshell comb.

A lovely hair brush by Walker & Hall fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1907.

A large letter opener by William Comyns, the handle fully hallmarked for London 1898 and of superior gauge of silver. The blade is a flexible acetate faux/simulated bone. The hilt join area is steel.
