SUPERB OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE COFFEE POT DIXON SILVER PLATED ANTIQUE Item #100237
A very fine looking coffee pot by James Dixon & Son in Old Sheffield Plate with fruit finial, chasing to body and tinned interior. Capacity c. 2 pints. There is a slightly thicker layer of silver to the vacant central area of the chasing on one side, intended for engraving if desired. Gleaming silver, no dents, some wear to the lower handle area but otherwise silver remains intact. GBP64.99
BREAKFAST EGG CODDLER CRUET SET MAPPIN & WEBB SILVER PLATED VINTAGE Item #100238
A very unusual combination egg coddler with swing handle, burner and 4 egg cup cruet set with 2 open salt pots and spoons. Has its original 4 egg rack to interior. Made by Mappin & Webb. Main body is gleaming silver with some plate wear. Egg cups have general plate wear and one has a couple of small knocks to its saucer rim. The 2 glass pots and spoons are replacements, one is a good ‘perfect’ fit, the other slight movement but not enough to worry about. It’s still a fab looking and highly unusual piece! GBP119.99
WMF MASONIC INTEREST SILVER PLATED FRUIT BOWL WITH GLASS – ANTIQUE Item #100239
A nice larger sized fruit bowl frame by WMF bearing the Ostrich mark, so early c.20th, and complete with its original green cut glass liner. Later engraved as a presentation at a Ladies Night in October 1928 at the Portsdown Lodge (4356) in Portsmouth. Glass has been professionally stapled but otherwise ok, slight chips to the thin ‘rim spikes’ above the vertical cutwork. Its not too detracting, especially when in use. Frame has wear in places. A very fine looking roll-top by Elkington made in 1876 (!). Nicely chased decoration and a crest to top of a snake with branch in mouth coiled around a pillar / tower. Nice naturalistic form legs with paw feet. Has its original fat drip tray and pan. Gleaming silver, minor surface marks. Lacking its handle button. Great for its 150 year of age. Very slight shallow dent to rear of lid, pretty much impossible to catch in a photo.. Lid catches slightly when rotated but doesn’t inhibit use. The front side has historical silver soldering repair along its rim join area but it isn’t that obvious or detracting. Has an interior tray but no drip pan. GBP99.99
