A c.19th mahogany cased set of mother of pearl handled dessert knives & forks, each with a crested handle which is also replicated on the brass plaque to lid. Made by Prime c. 1850. The case has a 3rd layer which would have housed another 6 knives and forks originally. There are 24 pieces. Overall good, the mother of pearl handles are generally fine with the odd very minor flaw or nibble to a few. The inking of the crests has varying states of rub. Plating shows some age related wear, mainly to rear of forks. There is variation in the lengths of these. The case is structurally solid, missing its escutcheon to front and with some scuffs & marks etc. GBP174.99
