BEAUTIFUL CHERUBS CENTRE PIECE EPERGNE STAND SILVER PLATED 1863 ANTIQUE Item #57688
An absolutely stunning stand for a glass bowl, the centre adorned with 2 gorgeously modelled cherubs. Made by Richard Hodd & William Linley of London, it bears a PODR design registration number to top for 1863. Comes with a replacement glass bowl. Absolutely gleaming, no plate wear, one tiny dent to the plinth area and minor marks. The top area recess has some scratches and visible historical solder around the central ‘spigot’. The replacement bowl is not a perfect fit but works quite well with the stand, it can be kept firmly in place with use of some moulding wax or ‘blue tack’ etc – we have tried it and it works nicely. If you can find a bowl with a base diameter of 9.5cm it should fit very tightly. GBP119.99

A c. 1930’s canteen of Old English pattern silver plated flatware with acetate faux bone handled steel cutlery for 8 settings. Made by C.W. Fletcher of Sheffield. Comprises 8x dinner fork, dinner knife, side/dessert fork, side/dessert knife, dessert spoon, soup spoon, teaspoon, coffee spoon + 4x tablespoons and 3 piece meat serving set. Total of 71 pieces. Case is nicely oak veneered with black banding typical of the 30’s. All hand polished & gleaming silver with some use generally light use marks. The meat servers have obvious use marks and some handle digs/marks. Case is overall in good condition for age with some minor marks and a couple of feint varnish wear lines to front from historical taping. Overall good with use marks, the odd slight knock or dig to handle and some very slight plate wear to some of the blades. All structurally solid and useable etc. Case gas some marks and its interior hinge ribbons have frayed. Slight movement at the hinges. GBP79.99
