4x GEORGIAN BOTTOM HANDLE MARKED SPOONS C.18TH STERLING SILVER ANTIQUE Item #55454
A small collection of spoons c. 1760 or so including a fancy back flowers example and a pair of small teaspoons. These are all base of handle marked with just lion passant & makers mark. We have not polished these. The smallest one has obvious bowl tip wear, others are fairly good for age. The fancy back decoration is part worn. GBP43.99

A good pair of bright cut tongs by John Lambe bearing partial London marks and the incuse duty mark only used 1784/5. No monograms. Excellent. GBP39.99

HEAVY QUEENS PATTERN STERLING SILVER SUGAR TONGS John Le Gallais of Jersey 1853 Item #55435
A very heavy gauge pair of large sugar tongs in Queens pattern, fully hallmarked for London 1853 and made by John Le Gallais of Jersey. No monograms. Engraved ‘1853’ next to the hallmarks. Excellent, possible erasure of monogram to bow but if so it is very ancient, looks more like some gentle surface digs. GBP64.99

FINE ANTIQUE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER SUGAR TONGS c. 1911 Item #55436
A super pair of tongs, unmarked but definitely silver and obviously Chinese. They have a monogram and dating to the bow 1886-1911 so were presumably a silver anniversary present in 1911. Gilt wash to interior of nip ends. Excellent GBP49.99

A sterling silver caddy spoon by Nathaniel Smith & Co bearing Sheffield hallmarks, date letter obscured. Monogrammed ‘JSL’. Has a historical repair of handle with bowl join but is otherwise fine. GBP29.99

STERLING SILVER HAND MIRROR – BIRMINGHAM 1911 – ANTIQUE Item #55441
A sterling silver hand mirror by Samuel Levi fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1911. Monogrammed ‘MDJ’. Overall reasonably good, has some dents to its edges and a couple of minor pinhead knocks to back. Some tiny pinhead holes to the raised decoration but they blend into the pattern, they don’t really look like holes. Glass is fine and useable, small area of silvering loss to back of glass to the extreme edge in a small patch. GBP49.99

MATCHING STERLING SILVER HANDLED GLOVE STRETCHERS SHOE HORN BUTTON HOOK SET Item #55442
A good trio of glove stretchers, button hook and shoe horn with the same pattern to handles, all fully hallmarked for Chester 1911, maker J & R Griffin (Joseph & Richard Griffin). Steel uppers. All structurally good, some minor surface marks to handles from use etc. Some tarnish marks to the steel ends. GBP49.99

DRESSING TABLE POWDER POT GREEN MAN – STERLING SILVER & GLASS 1959 VINTAGE Item #55443
A lovely looking sterling silver lidded powder pot with mirror to interior of lid. The lovely repousse design incorporated the Green Man and birds etc. No monograms. Lid fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1958, maker Broadway & Co. Very good overall, a small nibble to inside rim of the glass aperture but quite smooth to touch. Lid has some minor marks and minor rim dents. Lid weighs 104g including its glass obviously. GBP49.99

A lovely pair of novelty small 830 standard silver salt and pepper pots by Th. Marthinsen bearing Swedish markings to base. Each pot is engraved with an ‘S’ or a ‘P’ to its upper. The lower sections are finely hand hammered. Gilt washed interior. Both fine, minor surface marks. GBP49.99

HESTER BATEMAN BRIGHT CUT TABLESPOON – LONDON 1789 – ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER Item #55417
A sterling silver tablespoon by Hester Bateman fully hallmarked for London 1789/1790. Contemporary engraving to rear of handle for 1789. Bright cut pattern. Some digs to end of handle at front, doesn’t look like a monogram erasure but in that kind of area to both front and back of handle. Some small gentle bowl dents. Hester’s makers mark is unfortunately quite worn but its definitely her, you can tell from the first letter ‘H’ and the fact its bright cut OE etc. GBP81.99

A splendid spoon by Michael Keating hallmarked for Dublin 1794, interestingly also bearing another marking of ‘BD’. Irish pointed bright cut. The bright cut work includes a ribbon bow to top and a crest of demi-lion rampant holding a wheat sheaf. Very good, a slight bowl scracth. GBP84.99

An interesting harlequin set of ‘full feathered’ pattern to fronts with blank cartouche area egg or similar spoons. 3 are by Thomas Northcote and bear partial hallmarks for 1791, the other 3 appear to be earlier with lower handle markings of lion passant earlier. All structurally fine, minor bowl tip wear and some slight tarnish marks etc. One of the Northcote’s has a tiny bowl rim knock. A very good looking small pedestalled cup fully hallmarked for London 1930, maker Johnson, Walker & Tolhurst. Heavy gauge silver for size. No body dents. One handle marginally out of perfect shape but it is quite minor. Looks great. GBP49.99

CAKE FORKS – SILVER PLATED SET OF 6 – CASED – YEOMAN PLATE OLD ENGLISH – VINTAGE Item #55387

An unusual set of 12 hors d’oeuvres knives and forks made for Harrods Stores London, early c.20th. Acetate faux bone handled and steel uppers. They are similar in look to fish cutlery but much smaller. All polished and fine with some use marks, one fork has a slight prong kink but nothing major. GBP35.99

A pair of hobnail cut glass salt & pepper pots with sterling silver lids by Henry Hobson & Sons, fully hallmarked for London 1932 & 1933. Obvious dents to lids but both still ‘functional’. Glass is fine other than some minor fleabiting to the screw thread upper of one but obviously you don’t see or feel this when in use. GBP19.99

A nice small sterling silver mustard pot by James Dixon & Sons, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1934. Complete with blue glass liner. No dents other than a barely perceptible pinprick knock to centre of lid. A small smoothed chip to rim of the liner. Silver weight is 18g, weight including liner is 46g. GBP29.99

A sterling silver mustard pot raised on elegant pointy claw legs, with glass liner. This is fully hallmarked for Chester 1908, maker Nathan & Hayes. Comes with a spoon just marked ‘Silver’. Also a sterling silver pepper pot fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1934, maker William Suckling Ltd, with glass liner. Both pots have tarnish related marks and will benefit from some further attention. Mustard pot lid may possibly have been off at some stage but of so was properly silver soldered back to its hinge. Mustard pot body has some small dents. Pepper pot lid has some dents. Both liners fine. Spoon fine. Total silver weight is 63g. Total weight including liners is 112g. GBP44.99

A very groovy set of 10 Sheffield made tea/butter knives c. 1930 in date. Various mottled coloured handles and tipped with an acetate faux bone coloured pencil top shape insert. All blades show very little use marks, quite mirror like in fact. Handles do have various degrees of cracks in their middles where they meet the pointed end pieces but all seem good and sturdy – perfectly useable anyway. Some tips have good historical regluing. Includes a WMF Ikora vase, Ianthe of England etc. All generally gleaming silver, some slight wear to some, interior of the larger posy bowl has general wear. A larger vintage sized posy bowl by Viners of Sheffield, with a removable wire mesh top and with 2 lion mask and ring handles, together with 4 mini urns also by Viners and with lion mask and ring handles. Would make a good floral display between them etc or you could use the min-urns as candlesticks. All generally gleaming silver, some wear to interiors but wouldn’t notice when in use.
