COAL SCUTTLE FORM SUGAR BOWL WITH SCOOP – VINTAGE – CHASED – SILVER PLATED Item #59273
A good looking smaller coal scuttle form sugar bowl complete with scoop. Chased decoration. Made by Cooper Bros of Sheffield. Note that the scoop does not fit into the lower hoop to rear of bowl. Gleaming silver, no dents other than 2 slight pushes to the interior body from the lower hoop handle, to be fair it just looks like ‘rivets’ in reality. Some very minor scuff wear to interior. A good looking waiter tray with profuse decoration and applied rim. Will accommodate most standard decanters for example. Overall gleaming silver (re-plated). Historical repair to one foot with some very slight cracks showing to the area of tray rim directly above this. A very nice looking combo! The coaster by Elkington was manufactured in 1873, electro-plated on copper and with 4 Egyptian style raised heads with chased work to rim. The decanter is a perfect fit on the coaster and a good heavy lead crystal glass piece with deep cut work and original stopper and comes with a good silver plated WHISKY label. Coaster: gleaming silver with some slight copper bleed to edge of rim and to the raised heads. A small dent to rim. Decanter: fine, just some tiny fleabites to the base end of the stopper (extremely minor). Label; fine. GBP39.99

A super amount of finely detailed bright cut work on this, retailed by Connard & Son of Southport. Capacity c. 1.5 pints. Exterior is gleaming silver (mirror-like) with some slight dents to the foot rim and a small dent to one side of spout, a minor patch of wear to top of handle area where the finial rests when lid opened and some wear at the hinge.
