UNUSUAL HESTER BATEMAN STERLING SILVER SUGAR TONGS C. 1770 – ANTIQUE GEORGIAN Item #59455
A very unusual pair of tongs by Hester with un-pierced cast arm joins with bright cut work. Partial hallmarks only. Marital monogram H over I+S. There is a good historical repair to the bow, only really noticeable from the inside with a very slight patch of roughness to the outside on one side of bow (see photos). Otherwise good. Note the cast arm seam joins, they are not repairs, they are how these were made in 3 sections. GBP74.99

An interesting piece that appears to have been turned into a souvenir spoon from Toronto, dated 1891 to bowl interior, from an earlier London 1809 hallmarked spoon by Richard Crossley.
